Power Naps

Another  important  factor  in  being  healthy ,  is  to  get  enough  rest.  We  all  sleep  at  different  times  once  the  sun  has  gone  down .  Some  sleep  soundly  and  peacefully  and  others  not  so  much.  We  should  all  be  working  on  getting  a  good  night’s  sleep,  but  this  is  a  post  for  another  day.  Today  I  want  to talk  about  the  Power Nap.

“POWER  NAP”    ?

This  involves  nothing  more  than  ensuring that  your  day   includes  a  period  of  peace . A  period  of  peace  being just  15  minutes  ,  wherein  you  explore  the  healing  power  of  silence  and  come  to  know  who  you  really  are. A  sort  of  rest  break  from  that  “overheated engine.”

See  it  as  a  pit-stop. Like  travelling  on  a  long  journey  with  young  kids  in  the  car.  The  continual  bickering and “are  we  nearly  there” questions. It’s  hot  and  everyone  is  hungry  and  needsthe  loo.  You  stop  don’t  you ? Wash  the  face  and  get  something to  eat  and  drink.  Refreshment  time ! The  “Power Nap”  is  the  same  sort  of  thing.

The  mind  is  like  a  lake  .  We  are  full of  inner  turbulence. By  simply  taking  15  minutes  every  day  to  be  still  and  quiet  ,  the  lake  of  the  mind becomes  as  smooth  as  a  piece  of  glass.  The  inner  quietness  brings  with  it  a  wealth  of  benefits  including  a  deep  sense  of  well-being,  inner  peace  and  boundless  energy. You  will sleep  better  and  enjoy  a  renewed  balance  in  your  day-to-day  activities.
