Pills – healthy weight loss ?
Today, there are so many different pills out there that profess to make us lose weight. Take this one and it’ll stop you feeling hungry or take that one and it’ll will speed up your metabolism.
Look, this might well be true. I’m not a scientist. But, I don’t want to take pills. I can lose weight without them, and so can you.
THINK SMART GUYS AND GIRLS !
We just need to think smart, that’s it. We need to know what it is we have to do to lose weight, and then go along and do it. Get on with it.
So tell me then O wise one, how do I go about losing weight ?
We who are overweight simply eat too much and not only that, but we eat the wrong foods. So, let’s eat three quarters of what we normally eat at mealtimes. Maybe use a smaller plate. No seconds. Eat slowly. Tummy must be given time to communicate with the brain. “Tummy, have I eaten enough?” Cut down drastically on sugary foods and drinks. Enjoy each mouthful of food. Concentrate on what you are eating. Watching TV and eating at the same time is a bad idea because you just shovel the food in when your mind (brain) is somewhere else and not communicating with your tummy. If you want to lose weight you have to sacrifice . Bottom line ! If you don’t change your ways, nothing will change !
And then we need to be active. Any activity which requires movement is a form of exercise. Don’t sit for too long. Be active. Also drink lots of water all through the day.
And there we have it : Eating Habits + Activity + Water. Healthy and easy ! A healthy mind in a healthy body.
“Easier said than done!” Of course it’s easier said than done, everything is. It just depends on how strong your WHY is ! Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you want to study to become a doctor ? Why do you want to learn how to swim? Why do you want to get married? Why ? Why? Why ?
MY reason for wanting to lose weight is because it will give me a better chance of fighting diseases like Diabetes, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease etc. Do you know why YOU want to lose weight? How strong is your why ?
I’m doing it my friend. Slowly and naturally. Sometimes it’s a case of three steps forwards and three steps back. 🙁
